The Workshops and Opening Reception / Poster Session for ICIDS 2011 will all take place on Nov. 28 at the Surrey campus of Simon Fraser University.
This venue can be easily reached from Downtown Vancouver by riding the SkyTrain, Vancouver’s local metro service. Transit tickets can be purchased at any vending machine at any SkyTrain station. Two viable stations are Burrard Station and Waterfront Station. The vending machines accept coins, bills (up to $20), debit cards, and credit cards. Ticket fares are based on the number of zones you wish travel. Travelling from Downtown to Surrey requires a 3 zone ticket (one-way, $5 ) or a “Day Pass” (all zone, $9). Buying a one-way ticket is cheapest if you plan to attend both the workshops and the conference’s Opening Reception, as a return ticket after 6:30PM costs only $2.50. Once you have your ticket, walk toward the train platforms, and follow the signs for the ‘Eastbound’ platform. Board a train travelling in the direction of “King George”, and leave the train when you reach Surrey Central Station. The trip time is approximately 40 minutes.
